Killarney

Whether you’re looking for adventure or for more relaxed activities, Killarney caters to both. Thrill-seekers can explore the mountains and try to reach the summit of the highest peak, paddleboard the lakes, or abseil down the Gap of Dunloe while others relax at Killarney House & Gardens with a gourmet picnic, an outdoor Yoga session by the lakes, or a relaxing drive through the park.
An ideal way to see the National Park is by taking the Gap on the Dunloe day trip. Take the bus to Kate Kearney's Cottage, then horseback ride, or take a horse and trap through the Gap to Lord Brandon's cottage for a more relaxing approach. You'll meet the boats that will take you down the lakes to Ross Castle. The bus will be waiting to bring you back, but if you’re feeling adventurous you can hire a bike, cycle back and immerse yourself in the beauty of the national park.  For a luxurious stay, we recommend  The Aghadoe Heights Hotel and Spa. It has a spectacular view of Killarney's world-famous Lakes. This five-star hotel is not far from Killarney town center. It’s less than a 10-minute walk from Killarney Riding Stables and close to Killarney Golf Club. 

Kenmare

On a trip to Kenmare, you will be spoilt for choice with things to do and places to see. Dining out is always a unique experience. The critically acclaimed and award-winning restaurants provide only the finest locally sourced ingredients. It's also a wonderful town to stroll through and do some shopping. Walk up Henry Street from The Square, before crossing the street onto Shelbourne Street and strolling down Main Street. If the great outdoors is more for you, Kenmare will not disappoint.

Kenmare's natural landscape offers a wide range of outdoor activities, whether you are a history buff, a golfer, a walker, or a water enthusiast. Kenmare is the starting point for the Ring of Beara and the Ring of Kerry, as well as being conveniently positioned on the Wild Atlantic Way. It is a walker's heaven, with trails for all abilities. Kenmare and its environs are situated on the Beara Way and the Kerry Way, providing visitors with a diverse range of graded walks. We recommend staying in the Sheen Falls Lodge, one of Ireland’s leading luxury 5-star hotels. From the bedrooms, you will get to enjoy stunning views of Kenmare Bay or the Sheen Waterfalls. It is located near Kenmare Bay, so the perfect place to rest your head after a day of activities. 

Tralee 

Tralee is a lively town in Ireland's southwest, located deep in the foothills of the huge Slieve Mish Mountains. When it comes to deciding how to spend your day, you'll be spoiled for choice. It's jam-packed with fun activities. 

The "old" half of town is lined with exquisite Georgian buildings that transport tourists back to the 18th century, with parts dating back to the town's Norman roots in 1216. The more modern "Square" sits in contrast, with a big open space. Discover the town's rich historical treasures by visiting the local museum in the heart of the city. Take a stroll through the neighborhood park and stop by the beautiful rose garden. The Rose Wall, which comprises enormous glass plaques honoring each contestant in the Rose of Tralee International Festival since 1959, is also located in the rose garden. After your stroll, stop for a coffee in one of the charming cafés. 

The Slieve Mish Mountains are a beautiful sight to behold. Barnanageehy, one of the higher summits, reaches almost 561 meters above Tralee. This area is a hiker's dream, with moderate to difficult trails and breathtaking views from the peaks of these magnificent mountains. While portions of the Slieve Mish mountains reach 600 meters in height, they get smaller as you travel west, resembling hills and lowlands as you approach closer to Dingle. We recommend you stay at The Rose Hotel and spa. It is centrally located in Tralee with views of the Slieve Mish Mountains. The hotel is on Kerry’s Wild Atlantic Way, which has walking routes of Kerry’s scenic locations.
