It’s Panto Season in the Capital!

December  brings a certain amount of guarantees, cold weather, decorations and of course pantomimes! This is year is no different with a host of fantastic pantos for the family to enjoy. We have picked out three Christmas pantos taking place in Dublin City that are sure to help build the seasonal excitement.

The Gaiety Theatre is synonymous with panto and this December they will be helping you “forget about your worries” with the much-loved story that is The Jungle Book, which runs until January 8th.  The 3Olympia Theatre will be hosting an alternative version of the panto classic, Jack and the Beanstalk in the shape of Olly, Polly and the Beanstalk featuring a host of well-known faces. We’re all well accustomed to The Late Late Toy Show each November, but this year you can experience the magic in person with Toy Show The Musical at The Convention Centre which runs from Dec 10th to Dec 31st.

 

The Wonder lights at Malahide Castle  

 Another fantastic festive activity in Dublin is the Wonder Lights at Malahide Castle. Wander through the castle walls and into the illuminated grounds for a unique experience. The sensory light show transforms the majestic Malahide Castle in Dublin into a breath-taking twilight walk. 

Discover the stories of the gardens from The Talking Tree. Enjoy the Water Colours of the Enchanted Forest and see the Wildlife by Moonlight. Marvel at the Woodland Wonder and wander around The Walled Garden to see the Pond Life. After, head to the Woodland Cafe and Gallery Area to sample some tasty treats and artwork. Wonder Lights takes place Friday, November 4th to Saturday, January 3rd

Visit the Dublin Castle Christmas Market 

The Dublin Castle Christmas Market is the sole Christmas market in Dublin this year. It will have a jam-packed schedule including performances, food tasting, and festive fun. Thirty traditional alpine market stalls will be set up in Dublin Castle's courtyard. Each stall brimming with food, crafts, and gift ideas. There will also be some food stalls, with a mix of savory food and sweet treats. You can expect performances from the Dublin Gospel Choir, Cantairí Óga Átha Cliath, New Dublin Voices and Crux Vocal. The Christmas market at Dublin Castle in 2021 will run from Wednesday, December 8th to Tuesday, December 21st.

Wild Lights at Dublin Zoo

The Magic of Life at Wild Lights, Dublin Zoo

 This Christmas, take a trip to Dublin Zoo's Wild Lights. It offers a beautiful lit experience that's perfect for all ages. Wild Lights will take you on an 'Around the World' tour. You'll explore some of the world's most famous monuments and famous symbols. Take a breath-taking tour through the world's most iconic attractions. Explore the pyramids and stroll by the Eiffel Tower. Then, take in the universe through a spectacular display of colorful silk lanterns. The Wild Lights will run from Friday, October 28th to January 9th
