Walking with Alpacas has become a popular activity in recent years, although it is still unknown from a lot of people. Three Castle Head Cork

Cork has so many wonderful places to explore. A little off the beaten track is Three Castle Head in West Cork. Escape the crowds of nearby Mizen Head and prepare to be blown away by the beauty this hidden gems has to offer. This trail is located on private property; however, the farmer has kindly granted access to the public for a small charity donation. The trail itself is up to an hour long before you will see the Castle appear alongside the stunning views of Cork’s coastline.  Mizen head, Lambs head and Sheep’s head are all within view. Once you reach the Castle you can turn back or to continue to the next peak.

BallySaggart Towers Waterford

If you’re looking for a nice picnic spot and to enjoy some scenery, the BallySaggart Towers in Waterford are a must. When we say hidden, these towers are certainly hidden. Located 10 minutes from the town of Lismore, Waterford, this is a nice quiet place to explore. Its takes a 15-20 minute walk before you reach the first towers. They are not visible until this point which makes them even more ‘hidden’. Pair this with a visit to Ballyquin beach or Lismore Castle for the perfect day out. Loop Lighthouse, Clare

Duckets Grove, Carlow

Not a county you hear a lot about, Ducketts Grove in Carlow is another hidden gem to add to your list. This is a very interesting ruin which was burnt down in 1933. Part of the building are accessible but majority is not. However, the surrounding gardens and path are the perfect place to unwind on a sunny day. Parking is free and plentiful.
