We have searched for hotels that are in good locations to experience the celebrations and are available to book for St. Patrick's Day 2020, from 13th to 17th March. We've listed them below with some information about what is happening in each of these cities to help you decide where you should bring the family for the first St. Patrick's Day of the new decade! Some of the best places to visit to celebrate the Feast of St. Patrick are Dublin, Kerry, Galway, Limerick & Waterford.
Dublin
Dublin has the largest celebrations and their main parade starts at midday in Parnell Square and lasts for 2-hours. There are family events all over the city to fully immerse yourself in Irish culture. Try out the Guinness Storehouse special Irish culture event or visit The National Museums of Ireland for hands-on events for children.
Kerry
There are mini parades going on in most of the towns in Kerry, the largest two being Killarney's and Tralee's. Great places for families to experience St. Patrick's Day on a more personal level.
Cork
Go to Cork for the weekend and bring the kids along to St Patrick’s Snakes & Shamrocks Trail at Fota House & Gardens where they will learn what happened to the snakes in Ireland!
Limerick, Waterford & Galway
Limerick's parade will start at 12pm, where it is the 50th Limerick International Marching Band competition this year, bands from all over the world will be competing for the title! The kids will also enjoy the Hunt The Shamrock at The Hunt Museum.
Did you know the that Waterord was the first City to celebrate St. Patrick's Day as a national festival? We owe it all to them that it is now a national holiday. Their parade commences at 1pm and it's a great enviroment for young families!
Galway is this year's European City of Culture 2020 so their Parade should be extra special, it will start at 11.30am at Father Griffin Rd and lead up to Eyre Square.
